God’s Grace Saves Us: Gives Us Life

I’m reading Revelation chapter one having read all of the New Testament, now I will study Revelation, and move on to the beginning of the bible if the Lord is with me and I can do this in my time on earth.  I always like to think that the Lord God Almighty is giving me time to improve my circumstances here on earth and is not willing to take me as they say, soon.  I want to complete goals I have and have the time to enjoy the time I have on earth, so I will be changing jobs soon and moving on to greener pastures.  As they say…

In Revelation chapter 1 verses 12 – 16 we are given a magnificent description of John’s testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ appearing to him in a state of glory:

Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest.  The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow.  His eyes were like a flame of fire, and his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.  In his right hand he held seven stars, from his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in full strength. 

These verses describe a Holy God who appeared in magnificent strength and power, holding the seven churches as stars in his hand, their fate of which we are told in the bible, with one, the Church of Philadelphia, being the most obedient.

Being strikingly holy, he has a glowing face, brighter than the sun and shining radiantly,  as he is a beacon of light and is the light for all of humanity to follow, and we do obediently by reading and understanding his word, and through prayer, once we truly believe. 

All the other human expressions of our supposed deity; the mantras of the Buddhists and worldly temples, do not compare.  They are not shining lights to anyone, only to their destruction due to not knowing the Lord; the only Savior and beacon of light that the world will ever see.  He is that Holy, and no man has ever been holy, only Jesus the Christ.

We know that the two-edged sword coming from his mouth is his Truth he had written down in the Bible for us to learn from.  We know the Truth in seeking the beginnings of time from His Word, the Holy Bible.  We have asked and been answered questions about eternal life in His Word.  We won’t get correct answers from mankind.  Their versions throughout time has been a cornucopia of special gods, spirits and other things which they believe are really endowed with special powers; kind of like comic book heroes.

Our God is Glorious; the True God, the real God, who is alive and well, seated at the right hand of the Creator; Our Father In Heaven, a Holy God, not to be mistaken for a shrine or a temple, a figurine or embedded in a piece of jewelry.

We cannot capture the Light from men, only from God who is Eternal, the all seeing, all knowing God who is the Creator of Life Itself.  We are brought to glory through Him.  We live out our lives in Eternal Heaven, serving a Wonderful and Just Father in Heaven and in our earthly days while still here on earth.  Our futures are written in God’s book in Heaven and he has warned us of days to come…

Behold, the Lord will empty the earth and make it desolate,
    and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants. – Isaiah 24:1

Men are not great, although they pretend a lot.  They abuse their power and kill, cheat and destroy countries as well as cultures that go with them never to be recreated again.  The loss of lives and land, changing boundaries of countries, obliterating cultures and committing crimes against humanity are all things mankind has done.  It wasn’t supposed to be this way, not without God being the lead for us and making things right in his Holy justice.  Teaching us the law about how sin will destroy mankind and how mankind has taken the blows of Satan who leads us to destruction if we are not protected with the Truth and Knowledge of God.   

It wasn’t meant for man to be Holy; only God is Holy, mankind is not.

When we put men and women on pedestals we must be clear that their pedestals can be torn down.   Joseph Stalin, Saddam Hussein, Vladimir Lenin, Felix Dzerzhinsky, the founder of the Russian KGB;  Muammar Gaddafi, all were torn out of power; their statutes all torn down.

Who is God of the world?  Where did we come from, why are we on earth and what is our purpose here?  We are mankind created by God, for God and His intents and purposes.  We may not know it but our lives are in His Hands and we may want to think about our Creator’s presence in our very lives, for he has won the battle against Sin, Satan, and gave His very life for ours to be Eternal.  With Him.  Praise the Lord.
