Momentary Troubles Are To Be Expected

wallet-Webp.net-resizeimageThings happen along the way that seem like challenges and barriers to us, even being Christians.

The bible says that the road to the narrow gate is hard.

Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. – Matthew 7:13-15 ESV

Tonight when I left work I noticed that my wallet had been stolen out of my large bag I keep under my desk at work.  The bag is too big to lock up in my desk drawer, and since I work with all counselors, I felt leaving my bag pushed under my desk would be safe from anyone stealing my things.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Unfortunately, even counselors cannot be trusted.  I’ve searched my car as well as thought over when I last used my wallet.  I know I came into work with it because I had stopped at the store to buy my lunch.  Trusting the Lord when these things happen is best.  These may be temporary challenges, but we gain our strength from the Lord.

All will be okay.  I will have to replace items in my wallet and will lose some cash.  It’s an inconvenience, but it shows me once again that the world is full of unsaved sinners who are under the rule of Satan.

It’s the world we live in.  We bring the light to the world.  Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, my friends, He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

    • Thank you. Unfortunately we work in a locked inner office, where no clients actually come in to our building. Someone stole before, so we’re dealing with probably a desperate person, I would guess.
