May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands. – Psalm 90:17
You may already know that taxes are due to be post-marked no later than Monday, April 15th, to be on time, otherwise request an extension. I did my taxes but will have to mail them on Monday morning, after I get to work where I will print them off to mail them. Some of you may have been able to file your taxes online; that’s wonderful, but for some reason mine wouldn’t go through to be filed online, hence I must mail them in.
Here’s a nice article about paying taxes related to biblical teaching: What did Jesus mean when He said, “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s”?
I hope you were able to file your taxes without problems. It seems that when we don’t stay organized with government paperwork we can become so stressed by their required responses on their forms. I understand completely.
One of my new tricks is to use a free budget tracker where I have all my bills and income plugged in with my financial goals and limits set each month so that I can see how I’ve done every month when it comes to sticking to my budget. I am using Mint although there are probably other good ones out there and I’m not getting paid if you click the link. Just so you know.
Another trick is to use a monthly calendar where I write the amount of the payment on the day it is due, that way I can see it readily and it reminds me that the money will be taken out of my account. I also note whether each amount is on “auto-pay” or not.
It is good to get organized and it’s never too late to be organized. It will help in the long run.
I pray for you each day, that you may become knowledgeable of the Lord Jesus Christ by calling on him today; he will answer you and make himself known to you. May he bring you peace and happiness, I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
