Gratitude for the place we are in is what I want to write about today. A reflection of where I was last year in life and where I am today tells me that I have improved in my life’s situation in many ways.
Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, – Deuteronomy 28:47-48a
First, my budget is really clear and I’m living within my means. That’s a huge accomplishment from how I lived for the past many years or decades. Spending money with no thought about how it effects my budget in reality is overcome by the joy it gives me to check my bank account every day and find that I am not overdrawn. I have the money to pay my bills and still have money left for food and putting gas in the car. I am even able to save some money every month. That’s improvement.
I find my competence in living within my means has come with the Lord’s help in making things clear: spend on the things you need. Many things you want to actually can do without or find another way to address what you think you may need.
5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that therein is, who keepeth truth for ever;
7 who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth food to the hungry; the Lord looseth the prisoners.
8 The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind; the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down; the Lord loveth the righteous.
9 The Lord preserveth the strangers, He relieveth the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.
10 The Lord shall reign for ever, even Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord! – Psalm 146:5-10
A recipe for a nutritious blender drink that helps me feel fuller during the day that allows me to fast for the day, or the something that is wanted to cover the bottom of the door that lets flies in if I don’t cover it can be a hand-sewn towel over empty paper towel rolls, the cardboard things, can work. I’ve saved a lot of tops for work by hand-sewing the necklines so they don’t show my straps and I don’t have to wear scarves to work to cover those up helps a lot.
It’s a joy to solve problems where money is involved. Budgeting is a major item I always pray about. That and my health.
It’s a joy to solve problems in my daily life, I am grateful for the help God provides.
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, O righteous ones; shout for joy, all you upright in heart. – Psalm 32:11
Live in confidence that the Lord is real and he will provide you with the joy of knowing you are his. He will lead you to the path to find your way out of messes and solve problems, with your consent. It is collaboration, living with the Holy Spirit inside of one’s heart. The more you trust, the more He will do to solve the problems you face. I believe this and pray this for you too!
