1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together unto Him,
2 that ye be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as if from us that the Day of Christ is at hand. – 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2
Today’s livestream sermon by Pastor John MacArthur began in 2 Thessalonians, where he taught that Paul was allaying the fears of the Thessalonians who were falsely told that they were in the Day of God’s Wrath; they had missed the rapture and were being judged by God.
Apparently false teachers had come with a fake letter from Paul that they were in the Day of Judgment and were not going to be raptured.
Paul told them; Don’t be deceived; don’t forget what he taught them previously; don’t be ignorant; don’t be unbelieving; don’t be uncertain; don’t be fearful or anxious. He had told them the truth, that they will be raptured and it was promised by the Lord Jesus Christ.
We should always be thankful to believe the truth of the gospels, that the Lord is our God in heaven, that He lives and has chosen us for glory though Him, that he loves us enough to have saved us, that He elected us, that He will save and rescue us from the Day of Wrath, and that we will be with Him for eternity.
May we be glad in the Lord today and tomorrow!
Amen Suzanne, that is a great exhortation. Thank you and I hope you are well. God bless.
