But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? Then what if you were to see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
Jesus was the Teacher of our Eternity, no one recognized then and now. Well, almost no one believed him as he took the form of a man, and walked the earth teaching about himself. Today most people seem to have a superficial knowledge of who He is, but the same Father teaches us from His Son Jesus Christ through their words in the bible.
But there are some of you who do not believe.” – John 6:64
He taught that he came from his Father and that he did not do anything without seeing what the Father did, as he was in perfect harmony with his Father in Heaven. We know he was and is, the Son, in the form of a man, as Jesus, when He walked the earth teaching, performing miracles and saving mankind. Without Jesus we would not be saved.
The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. – John 6:63b
There is a difference in the quality of life when we follow the Lord Jesus Christ. No longer in human flesh, Jesus Christ lives in Heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the Father who loves us, but cannot look upon us, as many have said, as we have been born into sin and the Father cannot look upon sin. We do not see the Father, only Jesus has. He is a Holy God who sent his Son, the second Person of God in three persons, to earth to tell us about these things.
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
– Psalm 23:1-4
No longer must we be in anxiety or sheer fear about what happens in our lives. Satan no longer guides us.
Our yolk with the devil is broken when we believe in Jesus; he is the Lord of our lives and He never wants us to be hurt.
Satan harms; Jesus saves us children to have everlasting life in Him, so that we can be Joyful. If ever his children die, are in pain or are hurt – He does know. He will make it right. Look at Job, who suffered greatly and lost everything he had, practically, who had friends who chided him. Look what God did at the end. Read the story, see for yourself.
Often times those who don’t know the Lord blame God for bad things in the world, but they should know that evil lies in the spiritual realm, and blaming God for all the bad in the world can’t be accurate. Lucifer, the fallen angel, is at the core of evil. His evil agents cause many of the bad things to happen, along with the sin that mankind is born into.
I don’t believe we are all called to live the life Job lead however. That was one story although it is true.
We each walk our own paths with the Lord, and I am experiencing the love and peace of God each day. I really am. To me it’s become an affirmation of my belief in Him; a reward, if you will.
It may not be a reward but be a new way of life through the Lord Jesus Christ. Every day there are challenges and I know in my rational mind that had I not come to know Jesus in a way that I have I would be stressed out, frightened and anxious about what is taking place in my life today. Today as I write these words I know that even facing some of the struggles I face today, my belief in Jesus Christ sustains my life.
We are told in the end that we children of his do not suffer his wrath; we are saved. We have been judged already – and probably faced consequences of our sin as the judgment we will face – while on earth as believers in Christ Jesus. I think that as believers, Jesus helps us by giving us firm ground to stand on so we face our battles triumphantly. If not we are given another chance to learn what we must which may mean we are not strong enough as believers – yet.
But we have been forgiven. The world who is full of people who do not believe in Christ Jesus have become those living in the darkness of worldly ways. They do not yet see the light until He comes, in his pure glory. Their father is Satan and not the Father.
Living under Satan causes real fear and our minds and hearts are of flesh so it is easy to feel fear or anxiety. Seeking Christ especially in those times of uncertainty can help bring a quiet mind knowing that Jesus Christ is building us up and can quiet our hearts. He gives the peace that passes all understanding.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:7
